Im all for having a freezer full of meat so that I have lots of selection. But what tends to happen when our meat supply starts to dwindle is I run out of ideas for meals!! I tend to feel as though I have nothing in my cupboard at all.
Today I prepared steak. Its been defrosted and is all ready to go. Seriously. Steak. Im at a complete loss of how to make this one piece of meat anything but a slab on the plate. My ingredients are still being built up so I dont actually have a whole heaps to go with.
For now im searching my pintrest board for some sort of inspiration. Casseroles seem a tad of a challenge for me at the moment as I generally only have chicken ingredients. So my mission at the super market this week is to broaden my horizon on the ingredient front haha.
Buuttt I also have another problem. I am a fussy eater as is my husband. So this all makes my task alot harder than it has to be! I also want it to be healthy!! But those lovely veggies with the bright colours make my stomach turn!!! So I have two things that I am keeping in mind for this meal. Which in turn has made me slightly regret pulling the steak out of the freezer for tonight's dinner. Maybe I should pre plan my meals....well thats a completely different topic all together isnt it?
So for now im going to stick with this challenge and ill post what I come up with.

Well this is just the follow on from above!
I decided to cook the steak as its big lump of meat :/ But I tried to marinate it - but i was quite disappointed in the end result. It was bland and chewy. I think that I need to marinate it for longer than an hour! The marinade was AMAZING! It just didn't have enough time to settle within the steak :(. All around i think it could have been better - my husband got home early so i had to do a rush job GAH! But next time i think ill be more prepared.
